Compressed Laminated Wood
Compressed laminated wood is a multilayer insulation material made of common beech veneer. The veneer is glued under high pressure using synthetic resins. In addition to very good electrical properties, this material offers excellent mechanical properties.
The mechanical properties result from the individual layer direction in connection with the pressure applied when pressing the layers.
- high mechanical strength
- good electrical insulating properties
- low thermal conductivity, thereby good thermal insulation
- excellent oil absorption
- low weight
Main areas of application
Transformer construction and thermal insulation in gas tankers.
